Q: What is "Current Listings"?

A: Current Listings is a huge database of current MGB for-sale ads gathered from throughout the United States and Canada then thoroughly analyzed by computer and categorized by hand to create infinite search and sort possibilities for buyers of MGBs.

Because Current Listings was created specifically and exclusively for listing MGBs and MGB-GTs, every aspect of the database is geared toward MGB particulars. This highly focused approach makes Current Listings the most powerful tool available for finding North American MGBs for sale.

Q: Can't I just look up the same listings for free on the Internet?

A: Certainly you can! But even for free it's not very cost-effective. We have the help of extensive computer automation streamlining the process and still we spend hours each day categorizing and updating MGB listings from across North America for Current Listings. It makes sense for us to do that for a large audience, but it doesn't make sense for an individual to do that for himself or herself. What is your time worth? Probably more than the 10 cents a day our subscription costs!

For the vast majority of sites out there, there is no way to search for even the simplest criteria such as "exterior color". And we are not aware of any sites that allow searches for features that are important to MGB buyers such as wheel type (want wire wheels? Rostyle? disc? LE?) or overdrive transmission, or whether it is running or a project or a parts car or the more than twenty additional categories that we determine for every listing in Current Listings.

Still want to try it the hard way?! Where can you find the listings we carry so you can search on your own? We gather MGB for-sale ads from a large number of sources. The largest sources - craigslist.org, kijiji.ca, and kijiji.com - are meant to be regional sites with separate "branches" for hundreds of different regions, cities and towns. Besides using Current Listings, there is no easy way to search those sites across a broad area, much less an entire continent. Other sites where you will find for-sale ads and auctions for MGBs include eBay.com, cars.com, thebiglot.com, and hemmings.com.

Note that there are many automated sites out there that simply "feed" data from the original sources. These sites offer only basic search capabilities and little or no sorting capabilities. One automated aggregator we know of currently lists 2,655 ads (as of the writing of this paragraph) when you search for "vehicle: MG" and "filter: MGB". The "2,655" figure is rather disingenuous as more than 60% of those 2,655 ads are either expired ads, completed eBay auctions, or MGs but not actually MGBs. We have thousands upon thousands of listings in our master database, too, but we only show the MGBs - and only the current ones - in Current Listings. We would never allow expired listings in our online database just to make it look bigger!

Most automated sites get their data from only one or two or three sources (often craigslist, eBay and the like). Because we gather data from a large number of sources, our online database lists hundreds and hundred of ads you'll never find on the automated sites, and ours are only current - there's no outdated junk to sift through.

Q: How do I find the perfect MGB?

A: Each person's idea of the perfect MGB is, of course, different. Some people are looking for an MGB in pristine condition, some want something they can rebuild themselves from the ground up, and many people want something in between. With Current Listings' thoroughly categorized data and its powerful search and sort capabilities anyone can find "the perfect MGB" quickly and easily. Each listing is categorized and completely searchable and sortable by price, year, color, bumper type, wheel type, location (including city, state or region), and more than a dozen additional categories. You can find matches to any combination of categories that you wish. Want an orange 1972 MGB with a hard top? Want a rubber bumper car with overdrive? Want a project car with Rostyle wheels and chrome bumpers? A pre-1967 MGB-GT with a tan interior? With Current Listings, you can find exactly what you are looking for instantly!

Q: How are the listings categorized?

A: We aggregate large volumes of data and then analyze each listing using a two-step process: First, extensive computer algorithms created specifically for Current Listings and for MGBs analyze the data, parse critical bits of data, and create "flags" for the next step: Then real, live MGB owner/enthusiasts look at each and every listing, confirm (and occasionally correct) the computerized analysis, review the flagged data points, select representative pictures (in cases where the ad listing has many pictures and the first pictures are not representative of the whole car) and thoroughly categorize each and every MGB listing "by hand". By combining extensive computer analysis with human analysis, we can achieve a very high level of accuracy. This highly-focused MGB-only approach makes Current Listings' powerful search and sort capabilities possible. And that makes it easy for our users to find the perfect MGB!

For detailed information on exactly how we categorize the various parts of each listing, see How Listings are Categorized - a guide for buyers and sellers.

Q: How can I cancel my subscription?

A: Your subscription will automatically renew each month (or six months, or year - depending on your subscription type) until you cancel your subscription. Each time your subscription renews, you will receive an email notice to let you know that your credit card has been charged.

If you ever wish to cancel, you can simply login to the credit card processor site (PayPal) with your email address and password to cancel your subscription. Easy as that! If you have any trouble or want help for any reason, just let us know, we are glad to help. We cannot access your credit card information or your subscription account with PayPal, but we can cancel your subscription for you.

If you receive a renewal email notice and you realize that you did not want to renew, just let us know within a day or two and we will gladly cancel your subscription and refund the latest subscription payment in one business day or less! "We" are not a big company where your request might get lost in the bureaucracy. "We" are basically just one MGB enthusiast who has been doing honest online business for over ten years (see Squirrel Tracks, Busy Little Engine, and eBay for examples). Without happy subscribers (and happy "unsubscribers", too), our business wouldn't exist. Let us know if you ever need our assistance - we're glad to help.

How do we process credit cards? Your personal information is completely secure. We never see your credit card numbers; only PayPal, our secure credit card processor, sees the numbers. They only give us your name and contact information and let us know the amount you've paid. PayPal is a global leader in secure online payment solutions with more than 164 million accounts worldwide. Available in 190 markets and 17 currencies around the world, PayPal enables global ecommerce by making payments possible across different locations, currencies, and languages. PayPal spends tens to hundreds of millions of dollars a year on security alone. Your credit card information is secure with PayPal. See PayPal's Security Center for more on how PayPal virtually eliminates fraud and keeps your information safe and secure.
